Confusing experience for family visit

Someone called the room in the middle of the night for a few times so I am still confused as I was feeling it is a bit too much to answer the hotel phone after the midnight.

Location - don’t be sidetracked even located 100 meters from the beach but it is next to military facilities and industrial precinct so no luck to enjoy the beach!

30 min drive from historical Salerno which was very disappointing for us, train every 30 min, no service after 10 pm!

Breakfast was average, variety of hot food, serials and fruits.

Also, I slept with my window open and it has a strong burning odour. I woke up at night as it smells like fire. Not ideal for people with asthma. Not sure if one-off occasion. My room was facing the rubbish dump.

Would most likely not travel again and not recommend for families as it is most likely designed for business travel.

Pool was not available for a very strange reason, the reception said the weather is too warm but pool is not excess-able, assuming saving money on maintenance. I cannot justify the reason why the guest cannot use the facility.

Reception staff was helpful and friendly.

The rooms were good but the breakfast was below average from other Novotel chains or even other 3-star hotels. Also the location is far from Salerno city and if you don’t have your own vehicle this hotel is not for you.

We were desperately searching for new accommodation after spending one night out of three that we had booked in what turned out to be an awful BandB in Salerno. This one has availability for the same day so we quickly booked it without really reading the reviews, some of which may have put me off. ||What a relief when we arrived here though. The hotel is located a little out of the way but there is a bus stop less than five minutes away and you can be in the town centre in about 15-20 minutes. There are restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and a supermarket. ||The rooms were clean and quiet and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and attentive and happy to help. ||The breakfast provided had a good selection and was very nice. ||Pool area was well maintained and had a lifeguard on duty. Sunbeds and tables and chairs were readily available around the area. ||Overall we had a really lovely couple of days here.

conveniently at the peripheral of the busy city of Salerno. Most pleased with the friendly approach of your staff (in the week we stayed with you we managed to remember some of the names : Guiseppe / Daniello / Andrea / Simone / Genaro / Ilaria).
One area for improvement is to stop people from parking their car at the three reserved places for handicapped people. This seems to be an attitude and ignorance problem of people that have NO perception of what it is like to have a mobility problem ! It is suggested - as also discussed with general manager to install a few additional cameras to observe the parking area 24/7. It is acknowledged that reception staff cannot be watching the cameras 24/7 but it would no doubt assist to put an end to this anti social behavior. It is also suggested that reception staff should inquire with newly arriving guests (if applicable) where they have parked their car.
Rooms are clean and tidy - compliments to the staff.
Restaurant has a reasonable menu with a good choice of light or full three course meals.
In a nutshell : we enjoyed staying with you and we will be back.
Should you be able to resolve the parking problem ( a simple fix by installing a few cameras) then our score would change to 10 of 10.

Very helpful/friendly reception staff especially the female in the mornings. Air conditioning wasnt comfortable. it was hot and we had to keep windows open. some unknown bites on all our group members. Basin sink was blocked. No vegeterian hot food for breakfast, all meat egg options were there.

The hotel isn’t bad and it’s close to a very nice restaurant, however the breakfast was horrible, there was almost nothing and whatever there was it was dry and ugly. I was so disappointed, because in Italy they have the best food, especially in the South…

I was very disappointed by my stay at this hotel. The staff are clearly unprofessional, which spoils the experience from the moment you arrive. There are a lot of restrictions (for example, a member of reception came to tell me that it was forbidden to eat peanuts on the chairs downstairs...) which gives an impression of rigidity rather than comfort. In addition, the rooms are far from clean, which is unacceptable for an establishment of this type. As far as value for money is concerned, it is completely unjustified: the services offered do not correspond at all to the price paid. I would not recommend this hotel

The staff is incredibly accommodating and helpful. I stayed for the access to the hospital nearby, and each member of the team I interacted with through the trip was excellent. Beautiful location and nice amenities also
