Bellissimo resort situato tra le colline texane , le piscine sono molto grandi pulite e ben riscaldate nonostante le dimensioni . Ce ne sono tre e tutte si affacciano sul tipico panorama delle colline .... sono servite da due bar ristoranti che ti danno la possibilità di pranzare o rilassarti con dei buonissimi margarita mentre prendi il sole di gennaio ( se il tempo te lo permette )...|Le camere sono pulite e ben servite. Anche il personale è disponibile e cordiale . Vale la pena fermarsi qui come punto di riferimento e per un po' di relax .....poi partire per girare la hill country

Ho dato quattro punti su cinque solo a causa dell'enorme distanza dal centro città (circa 40 minuti di macchina...se non c'è traffico), che rende gli spostamenti costosi e difficili. Intorno all'hotel non c'è nulla, l'hotel offre uno shuttle solo per il centro commerciale e per spostarsi i prezzi dei taxi sono elevatissimi: io mi sono servita di Uber, con il quale la corsa fino in centro (Alamo Plaza) costava circa 20 dollari! Per tanto è davvero poco pratico. Se volete visitare San Antonio, scegliete un hotel più vicino al centro. Per il resto, la struttura è molto bella e particolare: camere grandi e pulite, bella piscina tiepida, una Spa molto elegante (piscine e percorso benessere 40 dollari per i clienti dell'hotel), negozi, bar, ristoranti non proprio economici ma tutti buoni, spazi esterni con viste bellissime, accompagnate da bracieri infuocati che si accendono appena fa sera, offrendo un'atmosfera magica. Il wi-fi è gratis ovunque.

This was a very nice location to have a good breakfast ? .

As you can see in the pictures, the meals were nicely presented and they taste as well as they appear.

The waffle was light yet crisp. There was a LITE nice flavor to it,

It's comes with the blueberry and whipping cream and a side meat.

The omelet was nicely packed with veggies, including sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese, and meat.

The outside seating area was nice, and the Christmas tree was up and lit.

It's a bit of a walk from the parking area.
The views are nice.

La Cantera is set in the stunning Hill Country in San Antonio. It feels grand when you arrive, but you soon feel comfortable like a home away from home. ||||The Spa is like a haven, offering an array of treatments. I felt utterly pampered and refreshed.||||My husband played a round of golf with my son and said the course was beautiful and challenging. ||||We dined in a few of the restaurants at La Cantera and the food was always delicious. ||||The service was impeccable. Everyone was always friendly and very accommodating.||||Joan Perez, the Concierge, did an outstanding job of coordinating a proposal for my son. It was set in the courtyard with a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree. She arranged a photographer to capture the moment and champagne for us to toast the newly engaged couple.

Are there any words worthy enough to describe the essence and experience of staying at La Cantera Resort. Easily above 5 stars! The employees were helpful, always there, always greeting us. We were in want of nothing. The view is spectacular! Then the outdoor fire pit areas with comfortable chairs, golf carts to get around, hiking trails....❤️‍? It would take a book to this describe this experience. Definitely a must stay. The rooms were nice with Expresso machines. Gas Fire place with an electric starter. Loved, loved, my experience here. I stayed four days and three nights. The hotel is centrally located near fine dining and a shopping!

First, let me start by saying that we have been here over 10 times during the past 15 years, and in its prime, it was the destination resort for the Hill Country in and around San Antonio. It was also owned then by Marriott and was a Westin property. We'd been noticing a degradation of the rooms and infrastructure over the past few years but had always felt the premium prices were justified because of the location (views are first class and spectacular), the pools and the grounds of the resort in general, not to mention the restaurants and bars onsite. However, this last trip over Thanksgiving was absolutely terrible. Came to use the pools, even arranged for my son to obtain a day pass so he could come join us at the resort. Weather was terrible and we likely wouldn't have jumped in but for an hour or so (pools are heated when operating properly), but the pools were under maintenance and the childrens pool (I have twin girls) was open but not heated. So, what had been a huge bonus during the winter of the prior year was a huge disappointment. But, that's really just the start. I was also offered an upgrade to a pool view room (pool was drained for maintenance) for a mere $200/nt. Sweet Fire grill, a nice indoor/outdoor restaurant cost us around $200 for a wedge salad (weird taste to the dressing), striped bass (my wife wouldn't eat due to taste), 1 french fry and 2 kids pastas. We did have 2 Grey Goose martinis (which were cheaper the next day at Ruths Chris despite being larger) and a glass of wine each. Sweet Fire is great for what it is, but its not a premium dining experience. I could go on, but I think you get the point. This is a place that can and hopefully will be a destination resort again, but until the renovations are done and they start giving customers a premium experience for the close to $400/nt it costs to go there (that's for a 350 sq ft room; we went cheap; prices go up from there), we won't be back. Here's to hoping Marriott buys it back! Something is drastically wrong and needs to be fixed....

Room was comfortable, beds/pillows great. Wasn’t able to enjoy all the facility has to offer but I’m sure it would be a fun vacation spot! Holiday decorations were beautiful and brought the season in. Ample staff through out the facility is you needed directions or assistance.
