We stayed at Albergo Falterona during our hiking trip along the Via de Francesco and were welcomed incredibly nice. Our room was clean and cozy with the possibility to cook tea or coffee by ourselves. The accomondation is very easy to access and only a few metres away was everything we needed from supermarkt to restaurant. We warmheartedly recommend you to stay a night or two at the hotel!!

The hotel has a nice ‘old’ vibe.
Very good and helpful service at the front desk.
Breakfast was very varied and good.
Next door there is an Alimentary, good for preparing sandwiches for another exciting day on the VdF.

Wow. This was one of my favorite hotels to stay at in Europe so far! It’s right in the middle of Stia; everything is spotlessly clean; and it holds old world charm with modern amenities. Patricia went above and beyond with such kind and warm hospitality, giving recommendations and even calling businesses to find hiking gear that I needed. A highlight for me is the mural on the ceiling in my room. Such a beautiful and hidden gem — and right on the Via di Francesco!

Great place in the old town of Stia. |The staff is super friendly, attentive and helpful, the location is within walking distance to restaurants, bars and pastry shops. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Great value for money. Highly recommended

Albergo Falterona provided us with delightful accomodation. The Albergo and its restaurant are both situated in a beautiful square were swallows flew and sang. It was extremely picturesque.||||Our room was spacious, cosy and confortable. The bathroom was just terrific, with a large shower and everything very clean. The staff was welcoming, helpful and patient with my family and I who were keen to practice our Italian. Unfortunately, the wi-fi did not work in our room, but we could use it in a lovely little sitting-room on the first floor.||||We were staying with the half-pension option, which meant dinner and breakfast were included - except the wine, of course. Speaking of wine, we tried an organic wine from the area at this restaurant and it was wonderful. The dinner was simple but very good and the restaurant itself is beautiful. The breakfast was the most complete we encountered during our walking trip.||||We wished we could have stayed more than one night!

Title: Disappointing Experience at Albergo Falterona in Stia

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Albergo Falterona in Stia and I must say, it was highly disappointing. While the location of the hotel is picturesque, surrounded by beautiful medieval architecture and mountains, the actual hotel itself fell far short of expectations.

Firstly, the rooms were incredibly small and lacked basic amenities that one would expect, especially considering the price. There was no tea, coffee, or even water provided in the room. This lack of complimentary items was quite disappointing, as it is usually a standard offering in hotels of this caliber.

To make matters worse, there was a complete absence of hot water during my stay. Upon reporting the issue to the hotel staff, I was assured that a technician would be called to resolve the problem. However, no technician ever arrived, leaving me without any hot water for the duration of my stay. When I approached the reception during checkout and expressed my dissatisfaction, the situation escalated unnecessarily.

The receptionist not only failed to handle the situation professionally, but she also displayed a lack of empathy and understanding. Instead of addressing my concerns, she became defensive and started yelling at me, creating an extremely uncomfortable atmosphere. It was disheartening to witness such unprofessional behavior from a staff member in a customer service role.

Moreover, the receptionist adamantly refused to provide any form of reimbursement or compensation for the inconveniences I had endured. Her complete disregard for my concerns and refusal to acknowledge any responsibility further soured my experience.

Based on my personal encounter, I strongly advise against choosing Albergo Falterona for your stay in Stia. The lackluster rooms, absence of basic amenities, and unprofessional behavior of the staff make it an establishment to be avoided. There are certainly better options available in the area that provide a higher level of service and customer satisfaction.

My husband and I stayed here for one night , and were made very welcome by the staff. |There is a small sitting room on the first floor which was a complete surprise with coffee and tea making facilities, together with a jar of lovely biscuits. |Our room was lovely, bathroom and amenities were very good, with plenty of hot water. |My husband is walking The Way of St Francis to Rome and this was an ideal spot to stay before the challenging hill walk to Camaldoli. |Thank you

Stylish Albergo! We had a double room with our friends the night before we commenced our walk. Lovely room which worked well with two couples( shared bathroom)Friendly and helpful staff -they phoned and booked our next nights accommodation for us due to our lack of Italian language- this was very helpful! We had a lovely dinner in the very interesting town and a very nice breakfast at the Albergo. Thoroughly recommended in every way!
